Whitefly outbreak on winter mustard & vegetables
Dry, warm mornings are favouring whitefly buildup on early-sown mustard + winter tomato/brinjal. Virus transmission risk.
Full IPM management advisory (click to expand)
1. Set up yellow sticky traps at 30/acre — cheap monitoring + partial control. 2. Spray neem oil 1% (soap 1ml/L as spreader) at first sighting. 3. If populations high: Flonicamid 50% WG @ 60g/acre OR Diafenthiuron 50% WP @ 300g/acre. 4. Uproot severely affected virus-diseased plants — reservoir for whole field. 5. Avoid Imidacloprid where you've used it 2+ times in the season (resistance risk). 6. In brinjal/tomato: remove alternate hosts (weeds) around the field.
